In Canada, I am Italian-Canadian, an Anglo-Quebecker, a Montrealer, and a member of several Italian cultural communities. I work in English, speak Sicilian with my mother, shop in French, read Italian literature, and switch naturally between languages. I dream in English and Sicilian, moving between Montreal and my ancestral village of Joppolo through memories, family, and myth. Even my surname—written as LoDico, Lo Dico, or Lo-Dico—reflects this in-between space, where cultures, places, and identities meet. It is a place where I belong both here and there, everywhere and nowhere.
